Common Goal is a movement of football players who pledge to donate at least 1% of their wages to high-impact football charities. Since launching the initiative with Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata in August 2017, a myriad of star players from all over the world have also joined including Mats Hummels, Giorgio Chiellini and Shinji Kagawa to name a few.

Having such a diverse and ever-increasing group of members presented Common Goal with a challenge of how to visually demonstrate that these individual players, from different clubs and countries, are all part of the same team.

Patterns of Play proudly stepped forward and volunteered to tackle the challenge at hand. The result being Common Goal player cards, an elegant visual asset that has created a sense of consistency and camaraderie across the various members of the movement.

The Common Goal player cards have become a central feature of the brand, with the players proudly sharing them with their millions of followers to signify that they are joining the team. The cards have generated countless impressions on social media, captured peoples attention and most importantly raised vital awareness of the movement around the world.
